New team member to join Oxentia from Research England

29 October 2021

We are delighted to announce that Dr Hamish McAlpine, Head of KE Data and Evidence at Research England, will be joining Oxentia as Principal Consultant in December 2021.

Hamish’s expertise in the higher education, research, and knowledge exchange sectors will be instrumental to strengthening Oxentia’s insights into one of its key markets, expanding the team’s ability to anticipate, cater for, and meet clients’ needs and expectations. Hamish’s experience in knowledge transfer and policy will also bring new perspectives to services such as innovation policymaking and advice on innovation institutional processes.

Hamish will join the team based in Oxford, focusing on both the UK and international markets. He will work closely with our consultants in the higher education and research sectors as well as the senior leadership team, providing expert support for business development, new product development, and sector-specific service delivery.

Hamish McAlpine said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Oxentia at such an exciting time for the company, and for knowledge exchange and commercialisation. Having been closely involved in delivering record levels of funding for KE, developing the first Knowledge Exchange Framework in England, and working closely on related policy areas like research commercialisation, I am very much looking forward to use this experience to further this agenda in the UK and internationally”.

Oxentia CEO Steve Cleverley said: “We are thrilled at the news that Hamish is joining our team. At Oxentia, we hire people who, like Hamish, represent our core values: excellence, trust, creativity, and collaboration. Having collaborated with Hamish in the past, and having followed closely his key contributions to UK Research and Innovation, I am confident that he will add to our team unique knowledge and perspectives to deliver on our strategy. I look forward to welcoming Hamish to Oxentia in December”.
